Welcome to Islamabad, the national capital of Pakistan!

Like many capitals of the world Islamabad is remarkably different from the rest of Pakistan. For one thing it is a city of tree-lined avenues, parks, playgrounds and gardens. There is a significant number of expats mostly from the diplomatic community who contribute to a growing number of carpet and handicraft stores, not to mention foreign brands in grocery shops and a variety of restaurants serving international dishes from American to Thai, Italian to Lebanese. It can be a deceptively boring and sleepy town, but with a bit of caution, prudence and imagination anyone can experience fun and thrill not found elsewhere:
  • Paragliding from the Margalla Hills
  • Going up in a hot air balloon
  • Booking a window seat on an air safari to view five of the highest mountains and glaciers in the world
  • Taking daytrips to visit and have a picnic at a couple of UNESCO World Heritage sites
  • Going for a camel ride at one of the parks
  • Visiting museums and galleries for art and photo exhibits
  • Attending festivals and melas (bazaars)
  • Watching plays and live performances by traditional, classical, and contemporary musicians/dancers
  • Shopping and dining

This site is all about Islamabad Lifestyle: shopping, dining, recreation, music and art scene, etc. It is dedicated to residents and visitors of Islamabad who want to share or know where to eat, shop, hang out, and simply chill. Contrary to what has been said below, Islamabad, though not as heavily populated as other cities, is a vibrant and entertaining capital. It's sceneries, such as parks, zoos, and hiking trails, add to the city's beauty and contribute to the city's appeal. The city's newly built roads enable inhabitants to travel anywhere in the span of 15-20 minutes and the traffic is well observed by the traffic police. There are many places people like to go during the weekend, as well as during the week. Hot Spot, Hot Spot on Haunted Hill, and Gelatto are three well-known cafes that serve mouth-watering ice-cream and hot, scrumptious baked goods, such as brownies and waffles. Hang Out, Espresso, and Mint are cafes/sheesha bars that serve great food and even better sheesha. Pir Sohawa and Daman-e-Koh are restaurants perched atop the well-known Margalla Hills. They're popular because of their splendid view and spicy Pakistani food. Tikkas and kebabs are among the dishes served at those restaurants. Overall Islamabad's entertainment makes up for its small size and offers a great experience for people both living and visiting the capital.

In Islamabad there aren't alot of things to do but however for the few things there are if I had to classify the top five things to do here I'd say number one would be the fine dinning. Islamabad has alot of fancy restaurants such as the the japanese restaurant Sakura and the Thai restaurant. These two restaurants are both located in the marriot hotel. There are other ourtside restaurants such as Majilis which is located in sector f6 neighbourhood.
The second choice I'd say would be the hot spot desert place. There are two one located in f-7 and one in f-6 and the one in f 7 has a little diner set up in which you can eat in and the f 6 hot spot is actually an open park with benches. You can go to these places with your family and friends to have various desert treats. Its also a place to meet new people.
A third attraction you can go to in Islamabad is f-9 park where theres a bolling alley and a laser tagging complex and this is another place where you can go with friends and family to hang out.
A fourth attraction for the youth who love cars are the racing scenes in Islamabad alot of people get out with fancy cars on weekend nights and racing and do car stunts which is a big attraction over here and a great place to get known and meet new people in Islamabad.
The fifth attraction would be Damnekoh and Pir Sohawa in the mountains just off of margalla where you can go up with friends or family and see beautiful views of Islamabad especially at night and also you can have meals at the restaurants up there. These are my top five things to do in Islamabad.

DanniaG Fine Dining In Islamabad 0 Nov 18 2007, 10:59 PM EST by DanniaG

Recently in Islamabad there have been a few restaurants that have opened up that have seemingly reached very high standards. They have gained a lot of popularity in a short while and appeal to not only the usual Pakistani crowd , but also many foreigners. Each of these restaurants have a different style and appeal to different tastes . The first of these restaurants would be Majlis, a lebanese place opened up by a retired ambassador and his wife from South America. This place is created within a house and is in a secluded street in F-6, allowing people to feel safe. The staff welcomes you with smiles and provides full attention to your table. The food is authentic Lebanese food, made by an authentic Lebanese cook and it's always fresh and tastes amazing. Not only good food, but alcohol is allowed there for anyone who may wish to drink , and there is shisha with many different flavours. Another good place to eat is " The talking Fish' which is a place that was most recently made, and it caters to all those who have a love for fish. It has a different atmosphere within the place, which is very " happening " . The other two places are located in Islamabads top hotels, The Marriot and Serena. The restaurant in The marriot is called
the Royal Elephant and it is Authentic Thai food. The restaurants In Serena are also exceptional , including the Moroccan place and the buffet. L' atmosphere is a french restaurant located in F-7 that gives excellent cuisine, and has become very popular, because it has a very relaxed atmosphere and great staff
